International Overdose Awareness Day – A Call to Action (Copy)
Today, we pause to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day. This global observance is not only about honoring the lives lost to overdose but also about standing with the families, providers, and communities impacted every single day.
Overdose is preventable. Reducing stigma, expanding access to treatment, and supporting evidence-based prevention are essential steps we can take together. The CDC has released helpful tools and resources to strengthen awareness campaigns and equip communities to act.
As behavioral health professionals, leaders, and advocates, we each have a role in creating safe pathways to recovery and ensuring no life is cut short due to lack of access, compassion, or understanding.
Let’s commit to continued action, collaboration, and compassion—because every life matters.
